back on the road at last

Post by dthomas » Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:21 pm

Hi Rumi people, well after 3 years or more my Tipo is at last up and up and running and no longer leaking oil into the crankcase, and does not jump out of 2nd gear, so far so good. Now I have a new problem after a round trip of 60 miles. I find I have a flat spot as 3/4 throttle, but if you open it to full throttle it picks up again. I run on a modern Dellorto carb jetted, the same as the old carb. Its not a big problem as I am happy. She is up and running but if you guys can help that would be great.

Cheers, David

what carb are you using ?. if as you say it is a modern type I expect it has clip on the needle that allows mid range adjustment, - clip higher up the needle to weaken mixture - clip lower on the needle to richen, you also have adjustment by using different needles and needle jet. an hour on a dyno will be money well spent if you have one and an operator who understands two strokes locally.
